Personal Narrative
2020, a leap year, has one more day than normal years.
In 2020, people have experienced a more challenging time. Many of them have undergone unexpected changes in their lives.
With the end of the year approaching, we are wondering what you will do on the last day of the year 2020. What will your acquaintance do? And persons unknown to you, what will they do? What is the association between this day and the previous 365 days?
New Year’s eve is celebrated on December 31st across the globe. Whether people are willing to reflect or not, the COVID-19 pandemic will definitely be marked in their collective memories. But, everyone has to independently perceive and go through all that has happened. We look forward to hearing from you, in your unique voice, tell us your story about the last day of 2020? We invite you to record a short video and participate in the project of visual storytelling.

2020是闰年，比大多数年份多出一天。
2020人们经历了比往常更加曲折的一年，无数人的生命在这一年里发生了意想不到的转变。
岁末将至，在2020的最后一天里，你在做什么？你最熟悉的人在做什么？周围的陌生人又在做什么？这一天，与你过往的365天有着怎样的联系？
当这一天过去，人们将跨越2020，无论情愿与否，新冠疫情都将被刻在大家共同的集体记忆中。而每个个体又都是独自面对、经历与感知这一切的。作为个体，你在2020的最后一天有着什么样的故事？我们想邀请你用影像来讲述它。
或许所有个体的故事汇集在一起，人们才得以重新认识这复杂而特殊的一年。
Visual Storytelling
How to talk about the last day of 2020? Choose one or some words from the lists below to start your narrative. Share an episode of a particular moment or incident in your life, make a video for no longer than 5 minutes, and provide a description in 100 words or fewer.
Name both your video and word files as follows, Your Name+Location+Key Words, and submit them to the designated online cloud storage. We will select from videos to produce a documentary theater performance. The performance will be produced under the project titled: A Leap of the Leap Year 2020: Personal Narrative.
Once your video is selected, your name will be mentioned as a co-project investigator and you will be invited to participate in an online discussion and further collective creation.
Key Words List 1: Stagnation/mobility, quarantine/social distance, escalation/control, restriction/freedom.
Key Words List 2: Virus, infection, epidemic, vaccine, suspension, transmission, mutation, cancellation, influence, travel ban, lockdown, travel, home office, escape, curfew, gathering, crisis.
影像讲述
如何讲述二零二零年的最后一天？你可以从下方罗列的关键词中任选一个或几个，以此为起点展开你的讲述。用镜头语言真实纪录今年最后一天的某个生活片段，拍摄一个不长于5分钟的视频，并用100字以内的文字进行描述。
视频与文字统一命名：姓名+城市+关键词，提交到指定云盘。我们将会用从世界各地收集到的短视频，制作一个纪录剧场，项目名暂定为：跨越二零二零 · 个人叙事。
短视频一旦被采用，拍摄者将在此项目中署名，并受邀共同参与线上分享以及后续的集体编创。
第一组关键词：停滞/流动，隔离/社交距离，激增/控制，限制/自由。
第二组关键词：病毒、感染、疫情、疫苗、停摆、传播、变异、取消、影响、禁航、封锁、旅行、居家、逃离、宵禁、聚集、危机。
How to Submit
Rules:
· Your narrative should be a true story.
· Your video must be shot on Dec. 31st, 2020.
· It must not be longer than 5 minutes.
· Your description must be in 100 words or fewer.
· Submit one entry per person.
· Submit by sharing a Baidu Cloud or Google Drive link to yingming.theater@gmail.com.
· Write “Leap 2020” in your email subject line.
Anything that can’t be shown in my work?
We invite you to tell us something about your real life. Please remember your audience is the public, including under-represented groups. If a participant submits a work that contains offensive and insulting contents, the Organizer shall reserve the right to delete the indecent work and disqualify any participant without any prior notice.
如何提交作品
要求：
· 你的个人叙事必须源自真实生活。
· 视频必须在2020年12月31日拍摄。
· 视频长度不超过5分钟。
· 文字描述应该在100字以内。
· 每人只提交一件作品。
· 邮件分享百度云网盘或者谷歌云端硬盘链接，发送至 yingming.theater@gmail.com.
· 邮件标题，注明“跨越2020”。
作品中是否有任何不允许出现的内容？
我们邀请你讲述自己的真实故事。你的作品将面向大众，包括少数群体观众。如参加者提交任何含有攻击性或侮辱性内容的作品，活动主办方有权删除并取消改参加者之资格而不作任何通知。
