The German Association for Asian Art (Deutscher Verein für Asiatische Kunst e. V.) is a registered non-profit association dedicated to promoting contemporary Asian art, culture, and performing arts in Germany and fostering intercultural exchange. Founded in Göttingen in 2019, its Asian Theater—formerly known as the Yingming Theater—brings together diverse artistic voices and explores themes of identity, freedom, justice, and subjectivity beyond cultural stereotypes. As part of this mission, the association also publishes The Asian Theater (ISSN 2700-2047), a digital publication founded by Dr. Yumin Ao that engages with intercultural theater and cultural diversity through critical perspectives and contributions from diverse cultural contexts.
