From March to July, the Chinese Theater in Göttingen produced an 82-minute radio drama Tough.
The radio drama tells the story of anxiety, tension, and mutual support in a family in the spring of 2020 when China instituted large-scale lockdowns to control the Covid-19 crisis.
The cast and crew members came from different cities in China and Germany, including Wuhan, Nanjing, Göttingen, Hamburg, Saarbrücken, and Aachen. This project was the result of successful cooperation across borders when most people practiced social distancing. In addition to building social and communication skills overall, involvement in this practice has been shown to improve students’ self-esteem as well as their confidence in their academic abilities.
