Feifei Yu

Yu Feifei was born and raised in Guangzhou. She studied at the Royal College of Art(UK) and moved back to China after graduation. Currently, she is based in Beijing. Her creative practices started from her exploration of inter-generational cultural identity. She integrated examination and usage of mass media, with theoretical backgrounds in critical theory, gender studies, and iconological analysis. Through research and practice, Feifei explores the mutual influence of media content and audience reception in the field of artistic expression. Feifei’s work has been exhibited worldwide, in both academic and commercial exhibition venues, including Lovers’ Eyes (Jimei × Arles Discovery Award 2017, China), I Do (Not) Want To Be Part Of Your Celebration, ( Qiao Space+Tank Shanghai, Shanghai, 2017), Fire Within: A New Generation of Chinese Women Artists, (Eli And Edythe Broad Art Museum, Lansing, MI, 2016 ), Arc Presents e Beaver Collective (GasWorks, London, 2016), etc.
