The Museum Friedland in Lower Saxony, Germany, situated in a unique geographic and historical context, tells migration stories centered on the Friedland Border Transit Camp (Grenzdurchgangslager Friedland), through which over four million people have passed since 1945. The museum is dedicated to researching, preserving, presenting, and interpreting both the history and present realities of migration, exploring themes such as departure, arrival, new beginnings, identity, belonging, human rights, and asylum. As a cultural space connecting past and present, local and global, the museum serves as a platform for learning, dialogue, and social reflection.

In November 2025, a new building was completed with an investment of €17 million from the German Federal Government and the State of Lower Saxony. On January 27, 2026, the Deutscher Verein für Asiatische Kunst e. V. , in collaboration with Museum Friedland, will present the workshop Talk with Me. Walk with Me.

This workshop invites participants to explore the intersections of language, body, and migration experiences through artistic practice. Set within the Museum Friedland—a site carrying memories of departure and reunion—the workshop encourages participants to start from a verb in their mother tongue and reflect on its resonance between meaning and physical movement. By translating language into tangible, touchable forms, the workshop creates a shared space for expression and mutual understanding across diverse cultural backgrounds.
